This is bizarre!

I had a site that was throwing redirect errors that I narrowed down to needing to upgrade Shadow to 5. I did that on a test site (clone) first and it worked!

Then tried it on the 'real' site and it fixed the redirect issue but now the elements in the Solpart menu are rendering center justified!

This is the site

www.mofga.org

and this is the cloned, test site

www.mainebirdhouse.com

Any ideas?

thanks,

Will, Maine, USA

I'm not seeing a centered solpart menu on either site. Did you fix the problem?

It is most likely that the module.css for the "shadowed" module contains CSS that is affecting elements that it shouldn't. The shadow module was updated to include the module.css file for the shadowed module (quite a few years ago now!).

PS: One thing I *can* see is that the breadcrumb is centred on http://www.mofga.org/

I had a look at your CSS, and skin.css has a .BreadCrumb: middle in it. On mofga it is having an effect - on http://www.mainebirdhouse.com/ it is also present, but does not have any effect. I checked your sites in the developer toolbar in IE - and mofga is rendered in "IE Standards" mode, and http://www.mainebirdhouse.com/ is rendered in "quirks" mode. This will be the reason for the rendering differences between the sites.

The reason for the different rendering modes is the namespace on your skin file "html" element (I believe that this can also be controlled in site settings). Anyway, you are rendering:

html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" for mofga (i.e., xhtml), and mainebirdhouse doesn't have a namespace at all.

Thanks Anthony! That made me recall that I had changed the Host->Fallback Skin Doctype: to XHTML 1.0 Transitional from HTML legacy. When I changed it back the center justification went away. I appreciated your help.
