i'm trying the flashplayer 3.1.3 with main reason the localization option. I use the module on a DNN 4.08 platform. With IE7 the localization works fine in the module. In firefox 3.0 it doesn't. The source displays the right file (en-US or nl-NL) after choosing a language, but it stays blank.

For reference I've used the Apollo MLHTML beneath the flashplayer module and placed the localized swf version of the file. This also works good in Firefox.

Any ideas?

The flash player module renders links to the dotnetnuke "linkclick.aspx" url, in order to support secure storage. Unfortunately, DNN returns a content-type of "application/octet-stream" for swfs, instead of "application/x-shockwave-flash". Firefox is not able to make use of the downloaded file with that content-type, and Internet explorer can. I checked the DNN source code, the content-type value is hard-coded, so there's nothing we can do about that.

I have changed the code to disable the use of linkclick.aspx, which makes it work properly with Firefox, but prevents the module from using files that are stored securely. If you email me at, I can send you the new version.
