I tested your PayPal v3.1.0 Beta 4 module today and it has 99% of what I need to take donations on a web site for a nonprofit org.  The one thing that is missing is the ability to tell paypal that the transaction is "PayPal Account Optional".  This switch tells paypal that the buyer can simply input credit card info without having to sign up for a paypal account.

When I use your module paypal always assumes that the user has to sign up for a paypal account (even though I have account optional turned on in my paypal merchant profile as a default).

Any chance this switch might get added to the module?

Hi Stephen,

I just checked the PayPal integration guide on this, and the only way to switch "Paypal account optional" on is through the website, in your profile (which you've said you already did). But it also says that this option is available for United States users only. Are you outside the US (maybe PayPal is ignoring the setting)?

Thanks Anthony.  I was thinking there was a cgi/form switch to turn the account optional on/off per transaction, but I can't find it either.

What I am seeing on my PayPal sanbox account is that when I create a pay now link using paypal's tool it puts me into a payment screen where the user can either sign into paypal or pay with a CC without having to create a paypal account.

The link is:

But if I call the same sanbox account using your module I can either sign into paypal or I have to create a paypal account, there is no "account optional" option.

Maybe you are calling a different entry point??

I've just checked the current version of PayPal against my account, it allows payments without a PayPal account. Maybe this was a temporary glitch on the PayPal site.
